Great book!!!! I really enjoyed reading this book. It is very emotional. It makes you laugh, makes you cry. It opens your eyes to racial issues that, unfortunately, still go on today. I’ve enjoyed the book so much that I have read it twice! Anxious for her next book!

This book displays growth out of the despair of the author’s first book, “Hating Self.” In “Loving Self,” the transformative power of self-love and self care, take hold. Like the fragmented flower on the book’s cover, “Loving Self” shows how our broken pieces can heal and bloom anew. Healing begins with Loving Self.

Butterfly Blossoms was such a refreshing read for me. A lot of books now have the same storyline with different words and punctuation. In this case, I felt this book was relatable and could be relatable to so many other people who have struggled in similar situations, which makes Sally a character that came to life. While there were some adult references, I felt they were in good taste with the theme of the book and opening up a larger audience that may be currently experiencing the same. Butterfly Blossoms was difficult to put down, and for two days, it was just myself and the book. Thank you for your hard work! Cannot wait for PT 2!!!

From the first start of the book to the ending was 10/10. I hope there is a part two! Need to bring on the part about her meeting Tracy, and if she gets back in a relationship with Bobby. It was so great, thank you, my friend can’t wait to read your next books to come!!!

Exccellent Documented Book

Excellent documented book about the day that the Western North Carolina mountains changed forever. This book is written by Rebecca Phillips, who actually lived the nightmare and deluge of rain that fell upon the mountains in two days. Very well written but also documented with pictures and real-life interviews from the people that survived the worst flooding in the history of Asheville, NC, and the surrounding mountain communities. I also lived through this nightmare, and when I began reading it, it was so well written that I began to have those anxious feelings I had during and after the storm. Rebecca has other books that are a variety of genres and are written with the same feelings and emotions projected on paper. A must-read if you followed the news/Weather Channel during Hurricane Helene.

This is the diary of a curious and courageous heroine, during a great storm.

Here is my book review of Hurricane Helene, Resiliency After The Storm By Rebecca Wells Phillips. This is the diary of a curious and courageous heroine during a great storm. A storm which changed the history of Western North Carolina and the nation at large. This is the story of an investigator with a flashlight and a quill and the desire to document survivors’ tales, as they were unfolding all around us, after the storm. Their anecdotes and recollections are now documented within the walls of our nation’s collective memory – through her great work. These are the annals of our time… Thank you, 11 days off grid during the storm. From Western North Carolina.
